For 50 years here at Sergio Lub, Inc. we've been committed to earning our living honorably; designing, making and selling hand-crafted jewelry that is Beautiful, Affordable, Meaningful, and Helpful. Describe Your Work: Sergio makes copper bracelets accentuated with Jeweler's brass and silver. Everything is handmade and every bracelet is hand-formed and annealed. There are hundreds of inspired designs. How did you get started in the crafts business? 50 years ago, as an avid researcher, Sergio explored every continent to learn his craft. From the Andes to the Himalayas, the Sahara to the Amazon, Sergio met with master craftsmen who taught him ancient metalworking techniques, and shared their inherent beliefs of wearing metals for health and vitality. Sergio respectfully preserves these cultural traditions by incorporating them in the design and creation of his jewelry Sergio’s son, Nikolas, and daughter Sonia inherited their father’s love for copper, and continue their family tradition of creating jewelry together in their Napa Valley studios, California. How long have you been wholesaling? Since 1980. What are your top 3 marketing methods for reaching new buyers? Advertising on Indie Me, sending catalogs of current inventory to qualified leads, social media posting on Facebook and Instagram. What percentage of your business is Wholesale? Retail? Commission, etc.? 90% wholesale, 10% website retail. How has IndieMe helped your business? Great exposure to potential accounts via digital featured product ads. What advice do you have for new craft artists? Read the industry magazines for advice, subscribe to industry newsletters, and get involved with the trade show communities. What advice do you have for new craft galleries? Build good relationships with your suppliers, especially ones whose visions are in line with your own.
